Little Falls Art Walk Thursday, June 16th, 3:30 to 9pm
The Art Walk begins at the Little Falls Public Library at 3:30pm with a children’s art activity. From there, guests can travel down Main Street to view over 27 art exhibits wrapping on West Main Street with live music. Each will be clearly marked with balloons to help guide people through the Art Walk.” The exhibits will showcase artwork created by Little Falls students as well as many local artists. Albany Symphony Orchestra at Little Falls, Wednesday July 5th
Part of this year’s Festival, the orchestra “Water Music” will be traveling by barge up the Erie Canal with performances at several canal harbors including Little Falls. Many of the works celebrate the Festival’s theme, which explores humankind’s intimate connections to the waterways, while celebrating the Bicentennial of the Eric Canal. The Albany Symphony has assigned an up and coming composer to each of the seven stops, each creating a unique musical presentation, celebrating the historic waterway and the canal communities throughout New York State. Little Falls Cheese
Festival, Saturday July 8, 2017 10 am to 5 pm
The Little Falls Cheese Festival was created to showcase New York’s artisanal cheese makers and gourmet food producers gather to celebrate the historical roots of Little Falls. Enjoy a day of cheese vendors with a wide range of high quality artisanal and farmstead cheeses that are produced in the Mohawk Valley and upstate NY. Enjoy music, theatre and much more. A Mid Summers Night Picnic, Thursday July 20th
Midsummer’s Night Picnic in historic Canal Place. Community members are encouraged to pack their own picnic and bring a picnic blanket. Food will also be available for purchase from local eateries. There is a Makers Fair beginning at 4pm for the opportunity to make a masquerade mask, build a fairy garden, or create a floral hair wreath to name a few. Kids may take part in classic kids’ races including a three- legged race, egg and spoon race, and sack race. Outdoor summer lawn games including Bocce, Crochet, and Badminton. Little Falls Canal Celebration, Aug 7-13
This Annual Canal Celebration, spanning 30 consecutive years, represents our recognition of the community, our heritage and the spirit that makes Little Falls a unique place in the Mohawk Valley. Canal Celebration has welcomed thousands of visitors to Little Falls, attending dozens of family oriented community programs, held throughout the week. There is something for everyone.., craft fairs, children’s rides and events, live music, a car show, a 10k and 2mile kids race and, of course, great food. Mohawk Valley Garlic & Herb Festival, Saturday, September 9th
The festival showcases locally grown or handmade products. Thousands attend the aromatic festivities in Sterziner Park at Canal Place, on the Erie Canal, with more than fifty vendors selling their wares. Our garlic vendors have been part of the festival for many years, and this year, will be joined by specialty food vendors, herb plant and product vendors, juried “green” artisans, and a fine selection of locally produced food product vendors. This year’s festival promises to offer the very best of the locally grown and produced garlic and herb products. A $3.00 donation per person or $10 family/group rate at the gate supports the festival with 1/3 supporting the Mohawk Valley Center For The Arts. Free parking with shuttle bus service is available. Oktoberfest in Little Falls Thursday, October 19th
The leaves are turning, the cider is flowing, and the pumpkins are on display which can only mean one thing Oktoberfest is coming to Little Falls!
