All aspects of the Canal Celebration event including programs, budget, theme, advertising, schedule of events, and shuttle services are on the table. Individuals are encouraged to come forward with new program ideas around a theme, featuring the 100th Anniversary of the celebrated completion of highest Lift Lock 17, at Little Falls, in 1816. This event was recognised with great community fanfare, one year before the grand opening of the NYS Barge Canal System in 1817 and will be the theme for the 2016 Canal Celebration.

Canal Celebration is a community wide happening, open to all who wish to participate. Your program is important! We should have a Program Registration by May, to be included in promotions for July/August, 2016.

Volunteers are needed and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
Groups and organizations planning on hosting an event during the celebration must complete and return a program registration form no later than May 15, 2016 to be included in the Celebration Program Schedule.
